We’ve been slowly doing sewing lessons for my kids. (cause you are never too young)
anyways…we decided to come up with a craft they could make…an easy sewing tutorial….
not really embroidered….but made to look like it!
Start by making a square of fabric…IÂ just bought a yard of white…(but you can buy handkerchiefs for pretty cheap at walmart)
I folded over the edge, the folded over it again and ironed and pinned into place
Then IÂ let the kids pick from all the pretty patterned stitches on my sewing machine…and they just cruised around it…
some are a bit wonky…which is still kinda fun!
my daughter ended up making a peace sign right in the middle…
the girls loved making them… and IÂ thought they would be a cool present for fathers day if your man is the handkerchief wearing type!

This is a great idea to introduce sewing. I remember being so afraid of the machine. it is actually pretty easy once you get past the fear. I wondered how to get my kids started. they are getting curious…..and old enough to “touch” my machine. 🙂 THANKS!
